1. Virtual braviary
Create a smartphone app that will help healthcare workers to optimize the dosing of parenteral medication (insulin or heparin). The dosing algorithm should continuously learn from feedback data.

2. Derma-hacker
Can you build an app that analyzes, using a photo picture, a skin defect based on its size and temperature? The app should be reliable and run on a regular smartphone.

3. Effect of Auxin Hormone on Plant Cells
Can you optimize machine learning algorithms utilized by 31P magnetic resonance? You will be fed all data and detailed explanations at the hackathon.

4. The Big Brother in the ICU
Create software that will monitor patients in the intensive care unit. Your software should be able to recognize when a patient gets up, if the patient is getting nervous or any other situation that might require a doctor’s attention.

5. Unordinary
Build a mobile app that would help to track unordinay patient cases in busy clinical practice. The app should be able to recognize patients from bar code/QR code/patient ID. Notes could be added based on favourite tags, text, photos or voice recording.

6. Harpoon Echo Assessment
Patient eligibility for HARPOON (breakthrough heart repair technology) is limited and the data set needed for decision is complex with strict clinical criteria. We do not always get the complete data set and screening physicians are not always consistently following the protocol. The goal is to help with streamlining and standardization of the process by automated analysis of the echo output (video file) to perform automated quality control and ensure it covers all the necessary views for anatomical examination and make preliminary assessment of eligibility of the patient

7. Aortic Stenosis Disease Awareness
Imagine you are in your early 70s and you are feeling a bit less energetic and short of breath. This probably does not seem unusual as you think it’s just age. The last thing on your mind is that you might have a disease called aortic stenosis. You have no idea even what part of the body this disease affects much less what are the symptoms of this disease. You either don’t know you have the symptoms or if you notice symptoms, you think it’s age or something else. Thus the challenge is how to create awareness, knowledge of this disease that goes viral, spreads widely amongst this age-group and potentially their loved-ones. How can we activate this population to take action on their heart health?

8. Early Prediction of Low Cardiac Output and Low Mixed Venous Oxygen Saturation
Can you design and implement a working, open-source algorithm that can, based only on the clinical data provided, automatically identify low cardiac and low SvO2? You will get data sourced from 150 ICU patients from a single center.

9. Phenotyping Emergency Department Patients with Acute Heart Failure
Create an algorithm that identifies presenting and discharge AHF phenotypes associated with poor outcomes utilizing any combination of the data provided. Data used in this challenge will come from 150 ED patients, consisting of time series data from our ClearSight technology and clinical data.

10. Do I know what drugs I’m taking? And does my doctor know?
Simple drug tracking tool for patients/families to track and share consumed drugs with a doctor. It can improve patient life and prevent double usage or negative drug interaction.

11. Stop amputation
Help effective communication between the foot clinics.

12. COVID 19 patient diary
Once a patient tests positive for COVID-19 and begins isolating at home, they will download the app. There will be a symptom checklist, an algorithm will suggest their risk level and email the doctor in charge. Healthcare workers could review the information and send advice remotely, call the patient, send an ambulance to their home, or discharge them from the monitoring program.
